Leo’s Carb Scan is developed and published by Stillwater 22 Creative. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, collects, transmits, uses and protects.

1. Information processed by the app

Meal and food photographs

When a user chooses to photograph or select an image of food for analysis, the selected image is transmitted securely to the app’s processing service so the requested meal analysis can be performed.

Photographs are used only to provide the user-requested food and carbohydrate analysis. Leo’s Carb Scan does not use meal photographs for advertising.

Users should avoid including faces, names, addresses, documents or other unrelated personal information in photographs submitted for analysis.

Barcode and product information

When a user scans or manually enters a product barcode, the barcode number and associated product request may be transmitted to a product-information service to retrieve food and nutritional information.

Device or other identifiers

The app or services included in the app may collect an app-specific installation identifier, device identifier or similar technical identifier.

These identifiers may be used for:

providing app functionality;
maintaining service reliability;
analytics and performance measurement;
diagnosing crashes, errors or technical problems; and
protecting the service from misuse.

Leo’s Carb Scan does not use device identifiers to display targeted advertising.

App activity and diagnostics

Technical information concerning app operation may be processed, including feature interactions, errors, crash information, performance information and diagnostic events.

This information is used to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and improve the app.

Locally stored information

Meal history, saved foods, preferences and related records may be stored locally on the user’s device.

Locally stored information remains under the user’s control and can be removed by deleting records in the app, clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app.

2. Accounts

Leo’s Carb Scan does not require users to create an account and does not provide account login functionality.

3. How information is used

Information processed through Leo’s Carb Scan is used to:

analyze user-submitted food images;
retrieve nutritional information associated with barcodes;
provide carbohydrate and meal estimates;
operate app features;
diagnose errors and crashes;
maintain security and service reliability; and
understand and improve app performance.

4. Service providers

Leo’s Carb Scan may use service providers to perform functions requested by the user, including image analysis, product-information retrieval, application hosting, analytics, diagnostics and technical infrastructure.

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their respective services, subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

Stillwater 22 Creative does not sell personal information.

Leo’s Carb Scan does not share personal information for targeted advertising.

5. Secure data handling

Stillwater 22 Creative uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed through Leo’s Carb Scan.

Information transmitted between the app and remote services is sent using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.

Access to app services is limited to authorized systems and service providers that require access to perform app functions.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should avoid submitting unnecessary personal or sensitive information in meal photographs.

6. Data retention

Locally saved meal records remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them, clears the app’s storage or uninstalls the app.

Information transmitted to service providers is retained only for the period necessary to perform the requested service, maintain security, meet legal obligations and support legitimate operational requirements, subject to the applicable provider’s retention practices.

Diagnostic and app-installation identifiers may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the app.

7. Data deletion

Because Leo’s Carb Scan does not use user accounts, most user-generated records are stored locally and can be deleted directly by:

deleting saved records within the app;
clearing the app’s storage through Android settings; or
uninstalling the app.

Leo’s Carb Scan provides informational carbohydrate and nutrition estimates. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
